From September 1, all students who are under the age of 21 will be able to travel by Wrocław trams and buses for free as unanimously voted by all city council clubs.

On September 1, 2018, a provision will enter into force, according to which students of primary, middle and high schools as well as of secondary schools created by the recent educational reforms will be entitled to free travel on public transport.

Anyone who is under 21 years of age will be able to use the free ride and during the inspection will show a valid ID of one of the listed schools.

The estimates are that up to 82,000 passengers will use free travels. The office calculations show that the project will cost the city budget ca. PLN 10 million a year.

Free travel will be available not only to young people. Similar rights will also be given to people who have been subjected to political repression during the period of the Polish People’s Republic.
